How GTA V / FiveM text colors work

  • GTA uses ~ codes: ~r~ red, ~b~ blue, ~g~ green, ~y~ yellow, ~o~ orange, ~p~ purple, ~w~ white, and ~s~ to reset to the default color.
  • No custom colors: GTA has a fixed set of ~13 named colors — there’s no hex, so a gradient or rainbow bands into those colors (the preview shows exactly what you’ll get).
  • ~h~ makes text bold (it toggles — a second ~h~ turns it off); ~n~ is a new line.
  • Where it works: chat, notifications (BEGIN_TEXT_COMMAND_*), job/gang/server names and most drawn text. A few UI spots ignore colors.

FAQ

How do I add color to FiveM text?

Build your text here and copy the code — it looks like ~r~Red ~b~Blue. Paste it into a chat message, notification, or name field and GTA colors it.

Can I use any color in GTA V text?

No — GTA has a fixed set of about 13 named colors (no hex). This tool snaps your pick to the nearest one, and the preview shows the real result, so a gradient bands into steps.

How do I make FiveM text bold?

Use ~h~ before the text (it toggles bold on, and again to turn it off). Tick the Bold box here and the tool adds it for you.
