Coloring text in Growtopia

  • Growtopia uses a backtick then a character: `1 blue, `2 green, `4 red, `9 yellow, `8 orange, `7 grey, `w white… and `` (two backticks) resets to normal.
  • Fixed palette: there’s no custom hex, so a gradient or rainbow bands into Growtopia’s colors — the preview shows the real result.
  • Honest heads-up: some colors (like `4 red, `5, `6) are blocked in chat and broadcasts to stop fake mod/system messages — but they still work on world names and signs. Stick to blue/green/yellow/white for chat.
  • A literal backtick in your text would be read as a color code, so we remove it.

FAQ

How do I color my text in Growtopia?

Build it here and copy the code — it looks like `4Red `2Green. Paste it into chat, a world name, or a sign. The backtick codes set the color and don’t show up.

Why won’t red or some colors work in chat?

Use two backticks (``). This tool adds color codes only where the color changes, and you can end with `` to return to the default white.
