Where upside-down text works (and where it won’t)

  • Bios, captions, posts and chat: ✅ it’s built from real Unicode letters, so it pastes into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp and most apps.
  • @usernames & handles: ❌ those fields only allow plain letters, numbers and _ — flipped letters get rejected. Use it in your display name or bio instead.

Honest heads-up: a couple of flipped letters can show as a box □ on much older phones, and screen readers read the characters oddly — perfect for fun, not for important keywords.

Usually not — most @username fields only allow plain letters, numbers and underscores. It works in your display name, bio, captions and messages.

Why does one letter show as a box?

A few flipped characters aren’t in every device’s font, so an old phone may draw a box. The rest still read fine; it’s the viewer’s device, not your text.
